Sunday, December 13, 2015 – Islamabad—The four-member delegation of American doctors, which is currently on visit to Pakistan, visited the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).They interacted with the faculty of the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) to evaluate the arrangements and medical facilities available here at PIMS hospital especially for US citizens in case of emergency and disaster.
The delegation, which was led by Dr Jeremy Larson and staff members of Embassy of United Stated, was briefed by SZABMU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Javed Akram. Director Burn Center Dr Tariq Iqbal along with deputy executive director PIMS Dr Ayesha was also present on the occasion.
During the visit Dr. Akram appreciated the US government’s continuing support for the hospital and briefed the delegation about all the best available treatment and other medical facilities in different departments of Pakistan institute of medical Sciences. Later, the delegation visited different parts of the state of the art burn Care Center and was briefed about the latest technology being used to treat the burn patients in case of any disaster and emergency.—APP
