Makhdoom Amin Faheem died on 21st November, 2015. He was a very popular personality in politics of Pakistan. Belonging to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), he holds a record for remained unbeaten in every election he participated since his start of political career.
In his last election 2013, he participated as the nominee of National Assembly member from NA-218 region, (Matiari-cum-Hyderabad) and he won profoundly from his region.
But his death led to a vacancy in the National Assembly for the region. Election commission of Pakistan has decided to hold by-elections on 18th of the next month. Election commission has initiated receiving the nominations requests from the desired candidates.
The interested candidates can place the appeals to the managed tribunals of election commission against the decision of Returning officers. Last dates for filling up the appeals is December 21st. Tribunals will then process the appeals and sum up the case not later than 23rd and announce the final decision.
Those who wish to withdraw their nomination papers can request until 28th of December and finalized list of approved candidates will be published on the very next day by ECP. Polling date for elections is set to be January 18th 2016.
