Indian Air force base has been attacked by suspected terrorists today in the morning. IAF base Pathankoti which is adjacent to Pakistan border was the target this time of terrorists.
H S Dhillon, the Additional Director of Punjab Police has told the news reporters that security personals were still busy in operation against the attacker by 04:14 GMT. He said that he has been reported by his men that two of the attackers have been killed and search for more is being conducted.
He stated that 4-6 security personals have also been injured in the attack. And they have been rushed to the hospitals for medical treatment. Two security personals have lost their lives in a close combat with the attackers.National Security Guard commandos have been deployed at the place of incident to clear out the area of insurgents.
A top-security official, who requested to keep his name classified, has revealed that it looked that the attackers belonged to Jaish E Muhammad and were suicide bombers who have infiltrated the base wearing Indian Army Uniforms.
Kumar Vijay Pratap Singh, DGP Pathankoti district has informed that the planes resting at the base are not harmed and his men operated in the arena for three consecutive hours to clear it off the infiltrates.
