Land grabbers are continuously busy in constructing domestic as well as commercial establishments along Murree expressway and the Administration is not taking any measures for protection.
Special Branch of Police, Rawalpindi has informed the situation to respective authorities of Punjab Government as well as commissioner office Rawalpindi. The areas in which illegal constructions are carried out are Manga, Bostal, Misari, Awain, Sulkhaitar, and Mohra Batnara. All these areas are adjacent to Murree Expressway and the builders are looting government property without any hesitation and fear.
It has been reported that the land grabbers use a symmetrical style for possessing the land. They first build a mosque along with tuck shops in the area and gradually build up their domestic property along.
They even use promotion pamphlets to gather donations for building the mosques and went as further as of displaying banners and sign boards for donating money to so called ‘noble cause’. According to the stats, some seven mosques have been built on the illegal possessions so far.
DCO Rawalpindi, Sajid Zafar Dal paid visit to expressway and ordered removal of sign boards which demanded donations for building mosques.
