RAK College of Dental Sciences, RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, Ras al Khaimah. Hosted a seminar on “Aspire” Excellence in Education in Medical Schools On 20th February 2016.
Medical Professionals & Dignitaries from UAE, Europe, Pakistan gathered together to attend the seminar. Honorable guests Prof. Badr Aboul-Ela (Director of CAA, Ministry Of Higher Education & Scientific Research in UAE) , Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Qayed (Director of Medical Education at the DHA, MOH. UAE) Dr. Yasser EH Al Nuaimi (Pro- Chancellor, RAK Medical & Health Sciences University) Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali (Dean of the College of Medicine ,Mohammad Bin Rashid University), Dr. Fadil Çitaku (CEO, Academy of Leadership Sciences, Switzerland) Mr. Asad Ullah Khan (Executive Director, Riphah International University, Pakistan) Delegate from United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), University of Sharjah, European University College (EUC) along with important personalities from Medical Education Arena were present in the seminar.

Mr. Hassan M. Khan (CEO, RAK College of Dental Sciences & Pro Chancellor, Riphah International University, Pakistan) conducted a pre seminar meeting with the Honorable Guest & Speaker along with the senior faculty of RAKMHSU. He also guided the guests for a tour of the Building.
Prof. Ronal M Harden presented his popular ASPIRE concept. He is an eminent scholar and is currently Professor of Medical Education, Teaching Dean, and Director of the Centre for Medical Education at the University of Dundee. He is also the General Secretary and Treasurer of the world-renowned Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) and through his stewardship, the Association have flourished with members now in more than fifty different countries.
Professor Ronald M Harden has a wide interest in Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Continuing Medical Education and is committed to developing new approaches to curriculum planning and to reaching and learning. Ideas which Professor Ron has pioneered include the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), the SPICES model for curriculum planning, a task-based learning approach to the curriculum and distance learning as a method of continuing medical education. Distance learning programs with which he has been associated have pioneered new educational approaches and individual programs have attracted more than 40,000 participants each. He has written extensively in his areas of interest and has published more than 400 papers in leading journals. Current areas of particular interest include outcome-based education, curriculum mapping and portfolio assessment. Professor Harden is recognized as a leading international authority and is widely sought as a consultant and lecturer in medical education. His contribution to excellence in medical education and to research in the area has been recognized by numerous awards including the National Board of Medical Examiners in the USA by the presentation of the prestigious Hubbard Award.
